Brian Kettlewood and Ron Sharp have very sadly resigned from their roles within the club and have left the fancy.
A sad day for all of us and a huge loss to the fancy.
We wish you both nothing but good luck

JANUARY 2021
Due to YAERC holding no shows in 2020, all subscriptions and block entries paid in 2020 are being rolled over to 2021. Should we be unable to hold shows this year, we will once again roll over subs and black entries.
Yearbooks are currently being worked on, we have been sent some great articles from members - I'm sure you'll all enjoy them.
As we begin this year back in lockdown, there are no plans to host a show in 2021 however we are keeping a very close eye on the situation and we are hoping that there may be a chance of a show in November.
We hope you're all staying safe and keeping well

JUNE 2020
YAERC have cancelled ALL of this years shows. We understand that some will be disappointed however we take the safety of our exhibitors, judges and committee very seriously, this just seemed like the common sense thing to do. It's never a decision any of us want to have to make but one we simply must. We made the decision as a club that all subs and block entries that were paid for 2020 will be rolled over into 2021. We thank everyone for understanding and continuing with their support of the club.
The cancellation of the shows just means that we can now hit fast forward and look forward to 2021, we are going to try to arrange for all five of our shows to be pitched forward a year and so far, we have managed to re-book the same judges, there's just one or two more to speak to about this before putting the plans in the diaries.
The cancellation of an entire years worth of shows means that unfortunately, we will be extremely short of content for the yearbook so we are asking members to submit ANYTHING they think may be of use, even if it's just a short paragraph or a picture or two of the best rabbits you have bred this year. We need your help with this and so far, a few have already answered our call and got in some great articles.
Fingers crossed, Covid-19 will continue to decline and we can all be back together in January at Bradford 5* Champ show in Doncaster. If Bradford still goes ahead, you will certainly be able to find us at our club stand once again.
Hoping you're all staying safe and well

We enjoyed a lovely ASS in Thirsk the beginning of the month, the weather may not have been on our side but spirits were certainly not dampened. A few usual faces were missing through illness and family bereavement, we send you all our best wishes and hope to see you soon.
Congratulations to all winners (results can be seen here and pictures of winning rabbits are here) Many thanks to our lovely judge for the day, Gary Lees and to all of you who came out despite the rain, wind and cold.
Our last show of the year will be our Christmas points show on 1st December at Kirk Sandall, Doncaster alongside DSL 2*. Many thanks to all at DSL for making this possible. I hope to see you all there!
I am now beginning to gather items for the 2020 yearbook. Please, please, PLEASE do send articles, pics, even little poems or jokes across!

october 2019
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I am sharing the news that on Thursday 3rd October, Barry Parker sadly passed away.
As many people know, Barry has been a part of the English fancy for several decades, most recently with his granddaughter Alicia. His enthusiasm and support of Alicia was truly a beautiful thing to watch, you wouldn't have found a prouder man then when Alicia came to the front to accept her well-deserved prizes.
Barry is another big loss to the English fancy as well as the YAERC family, I'm sure I can safely speak for us all when I say he will be so dearly missed.
To Barry's family, on behalf of us all at YAERC, we are truly sorry for your loss and our deepest condolences are sent to you at this sad time.
RIP Barry, you certainly won't ever be forgotten

SEPTEMBER 2019
This year has so far proved to be a bit of a stressful one for the officials at YAERC. As many are now aware, after complaints received, we thought it was best to leave our home at Thirsk and step out alone. This was a measured decision made during what can only be described as an emergency meeting with the committees backing.
Over the months, Richard and Sam worked hard to find venues, pens etc to host shows but ran into nothing but trouble and criticism off members that didn't want to leave. A postal vote was then held. The tides had changed and it was an overwhelming result in favour of staying at Thirsk so that is what we are doing. Many thanks to Stewart Howson for agreeing to be our scrutineer for such an important vote. We will still be holding our Christmas show on 1st December 2019 at Doncaster, to be judged by Steve Shacklock. This will be your last chance to rack up members points for 2019 and we will hold our presentations at the end of judging.
Our next show is our adult stock show at Thirsk, to be judged by Gary Lees. We hope you can make it along for what will certainly be another fantastic day.

june 2019
Our young stock show was held on 1st June at our usual home at Thirsk.
Sadly, during our AGM, Les Mitchell collapsed in the car park. CPR was given by fanciers whilst we waited for the ambulances to arrive. By the end of the show, news had come back to us that Les had sadly passed away despite best efforts.
Les was a huge character and so many of us are left reeling from his sudden passing. A real top notch guy who always had a smile and a joke or 12 for you, you don't often meet people like him.
All at Yorks Area English as well North East Counties English and Yorks Area Dutch wish to send their thanks to the two ladies who so valiantly jumped to Les's aid and did their best administering CPR for over half an hour to try to save our beloved friend Les. You were absolute heroes and 'thanks' just doesn't seem enough for what you did,.
Our condolences go to Les's family and friends, we are truly sorry for your loss.
RIP Les; We will certainly never forget you dear friend.

January 2019
2018 was another successful year for YAERC, holding 3 fantastic shows that saw some quality stock win top honours. We thank all exhibitors for their support and a bigger thank you to our 3 judges for doing such wonderful jobs.
Last year was the rebirth of our members points competition which Russell Fenn and Richard Took turned into a 2 horse race - Russell Fenn won in the end - Many congratulations. Alicia Howells won the junior points competition.
We've just attended the 'Bradford' Premier Small Animal Show where we took memberships at our stand. English best of breed went to our treasurer and his stud partner. Very well done Kettlewood & Sharp!
The AGM will be held on 1st June at our YSS during the lunch break - This is a very important AGM and we hope all members will attend if possible - It's time to have your say in the future of YAERC.
Wishing you all a fantastic breeding season and we'll see you in Thirsk!

NOVEMBER 2017
Unfortunately, I start with the sad news that our YSS judge, Pete Tweddle has passed away. On behalf of the committee and our members, our deepest sympathies are sent to his wife Tracy and family. Pete was a big hearted, friendly, well liked gent who will be warmly remembered by us all.
Our summer show was held on 19th August, judging by Stewart Howson. A big thanks to Stewart for judging for us, always a pleasure to have him at Thirsk and thank you to his lovely wife and our National lady president, Janet for joining him. We hope you both enjoyed your day. Congratulations goes to Ken Brownsord who took best in show with a grey.
4th November saw the English fanciers gather in Thirsk for the last time this year for our adults stock show and young support show. Sadly our advertised judge Kevin Young was unable to keep his appointment and Phil Brasier agreed to take his place just a week before the show. The committee cannot thank Phil enough for stepping in at such short notice and giving us all an enjoyable day as he worked through our stock one by one giving every last one of them a good going over. Congratulations are sent to Stevie Dixon who won best black in both shows and then scooped best in show in both of the shows! What a day it was for him!
Judges are being booked for 2018, Russell Fenn, Bob Bushell and Ian Kirkland are currently pencilled in and they no doubt will do a fantastic job of it.
Subs and block entries for 2018 can be paid at our club stand at the Bradford 5* in January. All members receive a yearbook. Hope to see some of you there.
As a last note, YAERC wishes to thank each and every person who has attended one of the shows this year for your continued support and we hope to see you all in 2018.

june 2017
At our YSS on 3rd June 2017, we held our AGM.
Richard Took and Sam Vogan both thanked the members and committee for welcoming them as president/chairman and general/show secretary and smoothed over the minor bumps they have hit during the hand over period.
Brian Kettlewood then gave a report of the accounts which are looking very healthy - Very welcome news!
It was put to those in attendance that AGM should be held every two years rather than annually - A vote was taken and all were in favour.
In other news, everybody at Yorkshire English Area RC wishes to congratulate our treasurer and friend, Brian Kettlewood on his best in show win at East Lancashire RC on June 18th. A rarity for an English to take top honours at an all breed show and I believe it to be Brian's first!
The weekend after, it was National English RC YSS weekend and what a weekend it was. You can go over to the NERC website for full results and reports.
